Printer Connected to Wi-Fi but Not Printing?
Printer says it is connected to Wi-Fi but your computer cannot print? Check network discovery, IP connection, queue, drivers and device selection.
1. Confirm both devices are on the same network
A printer can report a healthy Wi-Fi connection while the computer is on a guest network, extender network or different SSID. Check the network name on both devices.
2. Restart the network path
Restart the printer and, when appropriate, the router. Then wait for the printer to reconnect before testing again.
3. Check the printer entry and IP connection
The computer may still point to an old printer address. If the printer has an updated network address, the installed device entry may need to be refreshed.
4. Clear the print queue and test
Remove failed jobs and send a one-page test. If that works, the original application or document may need separate troubleshooting.
Before you change anything: If the printer is actively printing or moving, let the current job finish or cancel it from the queue. For physical clearing or cable work, power the printer down when the manufacturer's instructions call for it.
Still not fixed?
If you've worked through the checks above and the printer still won't cooperate, SafeCode can provide remote troubleshooting for U.S. customers. We'll focus on the actual connection, software, driver and configuration problem rather than selling a particular brand.
