Canon Printer Not Printing? Troubleshooting Guide
Canon printer not printing? Work through connection, queue, driver, paper, ink and default-printer checks before calling for technical help.
1. Check printer status
Confirm the Canon printer has no error message, open cover, empty tray or obvious cartridge warning. Then send a simple test page.
2. Check Wi-Fi or USB
Wireless printers should be on the same local network as the computer. For USB, try the original cable and another USB port if available.
3. Clear stuck jobs
Open the print queue and remove jobs that are paused, failed or duplicated. A single damaged job can block everything behind it.
4. Recheck the Canon device entry
If the computer shows several Canon printers, select the current device rather than an old offline entry. Driver or software conflicts can also prevent printing.
Before you change anything: If the printer is actively printing or moving, let the current job finish or cancel it from the queue. For physical clearing or cable work, power the printer down when the manufacturer's instructions call for it.
