Outlook Not Sending Email?
Messages stuck in the Outbox can be caused by connectivity, account authentication, attachments, offline mode or Outlook configuration.
Before changing account settings, check whether Outlook can connect normally and whether the problem affects one message or every message. A large attachment or a temporary account connection issue can also keep a message from sending.
What to check first
- Check whether Outlook shows Working Offline or another connection warning.
- Send a short test message without an attachment.
- Check the Outbox for a message that may be blocking the send queue.
- Verify that the account is still signed in and not asking for authentication.
- Test the account through its webmail service when available.
- Check whether a very large attachment is preventing the message from being sent.
When basic troubleshooting doesn't fix it
If Outlook remains unable to send while webmail works, the problem may be local to Outlook, its profile or its stored account configuration.
